Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit so it can function correctly and, in some cases, analyse how you use the site.
We also use browser storage mechanisms (localStorage) to store certain preferences such as your cookie consent choice. Like cookies, this data is stored locally in your browser.
2. Cookies We Use
The following table lists all cookies and storage keys used byBotBase:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
session | Keeps you logged in after authenticating with Discord. HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. | 2 weeks | Essential |
bb-cookie-consent | Stores your cookie consent choice so the banner doesn't re-appear. | Persistent | Essential |
ph_* (analytics) | Tracks page views and feature usage to help improve the dashboard. Only set after you accept analytics. | Up to 1 year | Analytics (optional) |
Sentry | Error monitoring. Sentry does not write cookies to your browser - reports may include session context captured server-side. | N/A | Functional |
3. Essential Cookies
The session cookie and the bb-cookie-consent localStorage entry are strictly necessary for the Service to function. You cannot use the dashboard while logged in without the session cookie. Because these are essential, they do not require your consent under applicable law.
4. Analytics Cookies (PostHog)
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with the dashboard - which features are used, where users navigate, and where errors occur. This helps us improve the product.
PostHog is only initialised and its cookies are only set after you click “Accept Analytics” on the cookie consent banner. If you click “Essential Only”, PostHog will not load and no analytics data will be collected during your visit.
You can change your analytics preference at any time using the cookie consent button (accessible via this page or the footer). To reset your preference, clear your browser's local storage for this site.
5. How to Manage Cookies
In addition to using our consent banner, you can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites or from third parties
- Set notifications when cookies are received
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to the dashboard.
For instructions specific to your browser, refer to its official documentation (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
6. Third-Party Cookies
We do not serve advertisements and do not use advertising networks or social media tracking pixels. The only third-party technology that sets cookies is PostHog, and only when you explicitly consent to analytics.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. If we introduce new cookies that require consent, we will re-prompt you.
8. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact the service operator.
