Server Settings
Settings in the sidebar holds the options that apply to the whole server rather than to one module. Change what you need, then click Save Changes in the bar at the bottom of the page.
Appearance
Accent Color sets the highlight color of this server's dashboard (buttons, the active tab, links) for everyone who manages it. Some of the bot's replies (such as the XP leaderboard, analytics charts and moderation messages), the ring around the avatars of the bot's webhooks (see Webhook Avatars) and the server's public pages use it too.
- Pick a color with the swatch, or type a hex value such as
#e67e22. The page previews it before you save. - Reset clears it, so the dashboard uses the bot's default color again.
Webhook Avatars
The bot posts through webhooks for mod logs, sticky messages, feeds and automations, and draws each webhook an avatar: the module's icon, ringed in a color, with the bot's avatar in a corner.
- Bot avatar in the corner (on by default) shows the bot's server avatar in a corner of every one. Turn it off for just the icon and the ring.
- Each module has a default Icon (its own, or any icon from the list) and Ring colour: Server accent, or Each message's colour, which rings every message's avatar in the color of its first container. That suits mod logs, where a ban and a join have different colors.
Every log channel, sticky message, feed subscription and automation action can pick its own icon and ring color in its webhook settings; Server default there means these. The previews show unsaved changes, the accent color above included. When you save, every bot webhook in the server is redrawn within a few seconds. A webhook you gave your own avatar in Discord keeps it.
Note
Discord keeps one avatar per webhook, so a message whose avatar differs from its webhook's (an item's own icon, or a ring in the message's color) links to an image the dashboard serves. That needs the dashboard's public_url to be an https:// address; until then those messages show the webhook's own avatar.
Locale and timezone
Under Locale & Timezone:
- Locale is the server's language setting. English (US) is the only option for now.
- Timezone is the server's local time. Open the list and type to search, for example
New Yfor New York.
The server timezone is used for:
- Birthdays: when the daily announcement goes out.
- Analytics: when scheduled leaderboard posts and stat channel updates run.
- Dashboard charts and schedules, for managers who have not set a timezone of their own. Your personal timezone in your account Settings takes priority when you view the dashboard.
When a member runs a birthday command without a timezone of their own, the bot offers to use the server's timezone for them.
Permission Roles
Staff Roles and Admin Roles decide who can use the bot's staff and admin commands in Discord. Dashboard access is separate and always requires the Manage Server permission.
Changing these two lists needs the Administrator permission (or server ownership); other managers see an error when they save. See Roles and Permissions for the full access model.
Server Vanity URL
A vanity is a short name that replaces your server's long numeric ID in links. With the vanity demo, the dashboard address becomes /servers/demo/... and the public leaderboard is at /demo. The numeric links keep working.
Rules for a vanity:
- 3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, not starting or ending with a hyphen. The field lowercases what you type and drops anything else.
- Not made of numbers only.
- Not a reserved word (a name the site itself uses), not blocked by the bot's operator, and not taken by another server.
As you type, the field checks the name and shows Available or the reason it cannot be used, for example 'gaming' is already taken. Save Changes stays disabled until you pick a name that is available.
To remove the vanity, click the X button next to the field and save. Links that used the old vanity stop working, so update anything you shared.
Who can change these settings
Anyone who can open the server's dashboard (Manage Server) can change the accent color, locale, timezone and vanity. Only administrators can change the permission roles. Every save is recorded in the staff logs under Settings.
