Member FAQ
Commands
A slash command is not showing up for me.
- The module the command belongs to may be turned off in this server, or staff may have turned that one command off.
- It may be a staff command: most moderation and admin commands are hidden from members.
- Server admins can limit commands to certain roles or channels in Discord's Server Settings > Integrations.
- Discord sometimes needs a restart or a reload (Ctrl+R) to show new commands.
See Using Commands.
The bot is not responding to a command.
The bot needs to see the channel and send messages in it. If it does not reply, tell a staff member which channel and command you used: they can check the bot's permissions for that channel on the dashboard's Permissions page.
I cannot use /ban, /warn or another moderation command.
Most moderation commands need the matching Discord permission, for example Ban Members for /ban and Timeout Members for /warn. A staff role alone is not enough for them. If you think you should have access, ask a server admin.
Levels and XP
My XP is not going up.
- There is a cooldown between messages that earn XP (60 seconds unless the server changed it), so sending many messages quickly does not earn more.
- The server may not give XP in some channels, or to some roles.
- Voice XP needs you to be active in the voice channel.
- The Levels module must be turned on in the server.
The server's public leaderboard shows how much XP messages and voice give there.
I did not get my level-up message.
The server chooses where level-up messages go: the channel where you leveled up, a dedicated channel, a DM, or nowhere. If it sends DMs, make sure you allow direct messages from members of that server (in Discord, open the server's menu and choose Privacy Settings).
I reached a level but did not get the reward role.
- The bot can only give roles that sit below its own role. If the reward role is above it, tell a staff member.
- If the reward was added after you passed that level, you get it the next time you level up, or when staff run
/xp sync_roles.
Birthdays
I set my birthday but nothing happened on the day.
- The server may not have the Birthdays module turned on, or may have no announcement channel set.
- Announcements go out at the hour the server chose, by the date in your own timezone (or the server's, if you have not set one).
- Check your saved date with
/birthday viewor on your account Settings.
How do I remove my birthday?
Run /birthday forget, or click Remove under Birthday in your account Settings.
Moderation
I was banned, muted or timed out and I think it was a mistake.
The bot carries out actions for your server's moderators; it does not decide on its own (except for automatic rules the server set up, such as anti-spam). Contact the server's staff. If you were banned and the server has an appeal form, the bot's DM may include a link to it: see Ban appeals.
Does deleting my account erase my moderation history?
No. Moderation cases and infractions are kept so servers stay safe. See what deleting your account does.
Your data
What does the bot know about me?
Your Discord profile, your settings and birthday if you set them, your XP in each server, your form answers, and activity analytics (that you sent a message or joined voice, never what you wrote). Download a copy with Download my data in your account Settings.
How do I stop the bot from tracking my activity?
Turn off Activity analytics in your account Settings. It applies to every server at once. Levels XP is separate and keeps counting.
How do I delete everything?
Click Delete my account in your account Settings.
The dashboard
I do not see my server in the dashboard.
The server list only shows servers where you have the Manage Server permission. As a member you can still use your own account settings, the server's forms and its public leaderboard.
