Analytics - Overview

Analytics turns your server's activity into statistics you can use: activity cards in Discord, voice channels whose names show live numbers, roles for active members, leaderboards posted on a schedule, and invite tracking.

Open Analytics

Analytics > Stat Channels: voice channels that show live numbers

What it does

  • Commands: /analytics server, top, user and channel post image cards with activity for a time range; /activity shows activity role progress; /invites shows and adjusts invite totals.
  • Stat Channels: voice channels renamed on a schedule to show member counts, online counts, goals, countdowns and more.
  • Activity Roles: give a role to members whose weighted activity score passes a threshold, and take it away when the score decays.
  • Leaderboards: post a ranking on a schedule and give a role to the top members.
  • Invite Tracking: see who invited whom, with fake-account and leave tracking and manual bonuses.
  • Privacy: choose which activity the bot stores for this server, and where.

How activity is collected

The bot records activity in every server it is in, whether or not the Analytics module is on: who sent a message (never its text), reactions, time in voice, commands, emoji use, threads, joins and leaves, and similar events. The module switch only turns the Analytics commands (/analytics, /activity, /invites) on or off. Stat channels, activity roles and leaderboards keep running while it is off; pause each one with its own switch. Other features, such as the dashboard's server overview, read the same data.

What limits it:

  • Server exclusions: the Privacy tab can exclude all activity analytics for the server, single metrics, or channels, categories, roles and members from them.
  • Member opt-out: any member can opt out on their account Settings page (in the user menu) under Privacy & Tracking. Their activity is then no longer attributed to them in any server, effective immediately.
  • Anonymization: after a fixed window, 30 days unless the bot's host changed it, the bot removes the member from every activity record.

Excluded and opted-out activity still counts toward server totals (such as messages per day), but it is not tied to the member: it earns no activity role points and is left out of member rankings and member statistics. Anonymized activity likewise stays in the totals and drops out of member rankings and statistics.

What this means for rankings: member rankings built from activity (/analytics top and scheduled leaderboards) only see the last 30 days, even for a 90-day range, and they leave out members who have left the server or opted out of that kind of activity. A ranking whose range reaches past the window says so: "Member rankings cover the last 30 days".
