Mod Logs - Log Types Reference

These are the 79 log types, grouped by the categories of the Log Types tab. The Picker label column is the name you tick in the dashboard; the Log type column is the internal name, shown in template slugs and the API. Every type has a producer: if you select it and the event happens, an entry is posted (subject to your filters).

Moderation

Moderation actions and case changes, anti-spam detections, anti-raid level changes, cleans and mass actions. Entries for actions taken through the bot carry the case number and the staff member; bans, kicks and timeouts done directly in Discord are logged too, with the moderator from the audit log.

Log type	Picker label	Description
`MEMBER_NOTE`	Note	A note is added to a member's case.
`MEMBER_WARN`	Warning	A member is warned.
`MEMBER_MUTE`	Mute	A member is given the mute role with `/mute`.
`MEMBER_TIMED_MUTE`	Timed Mute	A member is timed out (Discord timeout).
`MEMBER_UNMUTE`	Unmute	The mute role is removed with `/unmute`.
`MEMBER_TIMED_UNMUTE`	Timed Unmute	A timeout is removed.
`MEMBER_MUTE_EXPIRED`	Mute Expired	A `/mute` with a duration runs out and the role is removed.
`MEMBER_KICK`	Kick	A member is kicked from the server.
`MEMBER_BAN`	Ban	A member is banned.
`MEMBER_UNBAN`	Unban	A member is unbanned.
`MEMBER_FORCEBAN`	Force Ban	A user is banned with `/forceban` (usually not in the server).
`MEMBER_SOFTBAN`	Soft Ban	A member is softbanned (banned + immediately unbanned to clear messages).
`MEMBER_TIMED_BAN`	Temporary Ban	A member is banned with `/ban` and a duration.
`MEMBER_TIMED_UNBAN`	Temporary Ban Removed	A timed ban runs out and the bot lifts it.
`MESSAGE_SPAM_DETECTED`	Message Spam	A member crossed a message spam threshold (Anti-Spam or a spam rule). Messages a spam rule deleted are counted here, with an archive, instead of being logged one by one. At most one entry per member every 30 seconds, unless a rule deleted messages.
`OTHER_SPAM_DETECTED`	Spam Detected	Another spam threshold was crossed: mentions, links, attachments, emoji, lines, characters, stickers, joins or new threads. Messages a spam rule deleted are reported here, with an archive.
`CENSOR`	Message Censored	A message was removed by a word or link filter: a Discord AutoMod keyword rule that blocks messages, or an automation rule with a content condition and a delete action.
`CLEAN`	Channel Clean	Messages were removed with `/clean`, with an archive of what was deleted.
`CASE_CREATE`	Case Created	A moderation case was created.
`CASE_DELETE`	Case Deleted	A moderation case was deleted.
`CASE_UPDATE`	Case Updated	A moderation case was edited.
`MASSUNBAN`	Mass Unban	Multiple members were unbanned.
`MASSBAN`	Mass Ban	Multiple members were banned in a mass ban action.
`MASSMUTE`	Mass Mute	Multiple members were given the mute role at once.
`MEMBER_MUTE_REJOIN`	Mute on Rejoin	A muted member left and rejoined, and the mute role was given back.
`AUTOMOD_ACTION`	AutoMod Action	Discord's built-in AutoMod fired a rule (with a case while the moderation module is on).
`SET_ANTIRAID_USER`	Anti-Raid Level Set by Staff	A staff member set the anti-raid level (command or dashboard).
`SET_ANTIRAID_AUTO`	Anti-Raid Level Changed Automatically	The anti-raid level changed without staff: an automation rule or the decay timer.

Server

Changes to the server itself: settings, channels, threads, roles, emoji, stickers, invites, webhooks, prunes and bots being added. The moderator comes from Discord's audit log.

`GUILD_UPDATE`	Server Settings Updated	A server setting was changed (name, icon, verification level, etc.).
`CHANNEL_CREATE`	Channel Created	A channel was created.
`CHANNEL_DELETE`	Channel Deleted	A channel was deleted.
`CHANNEL_UPDATE`	Channel Updated	A channel's settings were changed (name, topic, permissions, etc.).
`THREAD_CREATE`	Thread Created	A thread was created.
`THREAD_DELETE`	Thread Deleted	A thread was deleted.
`THREAD_UPDATE`	Thread Updated	A thread was changed (archived, locked, renamed, etc.).
`ROLE_CREATE`	Role Created	A role was created.
`ROLE_DELETE`	Role Deleted	A role was deleted.
`ROLE_UPDATE`	Role Updated	A role's settings were changed (name, color, permissions, etc.).
`EMOJI_CREATE`	Emoji Added	A custom emoji was added.
`EMOJI_DELETE`	Emoji Removed	A custom emoji was removed.
`EMOJI_UPDATE`	Emoji Updated	A custom emoji was renamed.
`STICKER_CREATE`	Sticker Added	A custom sticker was added.
`STICKER_DELETE`	Sticker Removed	A custom sticker was removed.
`STICKER_UPDATE`	Sticker Updated	A custom sticker was changed.
`INVITE_CREATE`	Invite Created	An invite link was created.
`INVITE_DELETE`	Invite Deleted	An invite link was deleted.
`WEBHOOK_CREATE`	Webhook Created	A webhook was created in the server.
`WEBHOOK_DELETE`	Webhook Deleted	A webhook was deleted.
`MEMBER_PRUNE`	Members Pruned	Members were pruned (removed for inactivity).
`BOT_ADD`	Bot Added	A new bot was added to the server.

Messages

Edited, deleted, bulk deleted and pinned messages. A bulk delete is logged once, with a link to an archive of the deleted messages; a /clean by the Moderation module is logged as Channel Clean instead. Deletes the bot makes itself are logged as Message Auto-Deleted.

`MESSAGE_EDIT`	Message Edited	A message was edited. Shows old and new content.
`MESSAGE_DELETE`	Message Deleted	A message was deleted. Shows the message content and author.
`MESSAGE_DELETE_BULK`	Bulk Message Delete	Multiple messages were deleted at once.
`MESSAGE_DELETE_BARE`	Message Deleted (Not Cached)	A message was deleted but content was not cached (content unavailable).
`MESSAGE_DELETE_AUTO`	Message Auto-Deleted	A message was deleted by the bot (an automation rule without a content filter, or a spam cleanup).
`MESSAGE_PIN`	Message Pinned	A message was pinned.
`MESSAGE_UNPIN`	Message Unpinned	A message was unpinned.

Members

Joins and leaves, members who join with earlier moderation cases, nickname, username and avatar changes, role changes, and roles restored on rejoin.

`MEMBER_ROLE_ADD`	Role Added	A role was added to a member.
`MEMBER_ROLE_REMOVE`	Role Removed	A role was removed from a member.
`MEMBER_ROLE_CHANGES`	Roles Changed	Multiple role changes happened at once (bulk update).
`MEMBER_NICK_CHANGE`	Nickname Changed	A member's nickname was changed.
`MEMBER_USERNAME_CHANGE`	Username Changed	A member's Discord username was changed.
`MEMBER_AVATAR`	Server Avatar Changed	A member's avatar was changed.
`MEMBER_RESTORE`	Data Restored on Rejoin	A member's roles were restored after rejoining (when role restore is on in Moderation settings).
`MEMBER_JOINED_WITH_PRIOR_CASES`	Joined with Prior Cases	A member joined who has existing moderation cases.

Voice

Joining, leaving and moving between voice channels, being moved or disconnected by a moderator, and stage events.

`VOICE_CHANNEL_MOVE`	Moved Voice Channel	A member moved between voice channels.

`VOICE_CHANNEL_FORCE_MOVE`	Force Moved	A member was moved by a moderator.
`VOICE_CHANNEL_FORCE_DISCONNECT`	Force Disconnected	A member was disconnected from voice by a moderator.
`STAGE_INSTANCE_CREATE`	Stage Started	A Stage channel event started.
`STAGE_INSTANCE_DELETE`	Stage Ended	A Stage channel event ended.
`STAGE_INSTANCE_UPDATE`	Stage Updated	A Stage channel event was updated.

Bot

The bot's own activity: slash commands used, DMs members could not receive, bot alerts and automation rules that ran.

Log type	Picker label	Description
`BOT_COMMAND`	Bot Command Used	A bot slash command was used.
`BOT_DM_FAILED`	DM Failed	The bot could not DM a member (moderation notices, form responses) because their DMs are closed.
`BOT_ALERT`	Bot Alert	An internal bot alert was generated.
`BOT_AUTOMATIONS`	Bot Automations	An automation rule fired.
