Mod Logs - Troubleshooting

Nothing is posted at all

Check, in this order:

The module switch at the top of the Mod Logs panel is on (it starts off).
The log channel's own switch in the channel list is on.
The log channel has the log type ticked. A channel with no log types receives nothing.
The bot can view and send messages in the channel.

One kind of event is missing

A filter skips it. Open the channel's Filters tab: in Blocklist mode, check the lists and the per-type overrides; in Allowlist mode, remember every filled list must match. Exclude bot events skips everything by or about bots.
Events without a channel (joins, bans, role changes) are never filtered by channel or category lists, in either mode. If such an event is missing, check the role lists and Exclude bot events.
Some events need a gateway intent the bot's host must enable: member joins, leaves and role changes need the Server Members intent, and message text needs the Message Content intent.

The moderator is missing or shown as unknown

The bot reads who did something from Discord's audit log. Give it View Audit Log. Discord does not record every action there (a member deleting their own message, for example), so some entries have no moderator.

Deleted messages show no text

Message Deleted (Not Cached) means the bot never saw the message, usually because it was sent before the bot last started or too long ago. Only the channel and time are known. Deleted messages the bot did see are logged as Message Deleted with their text.

Entries arrive as normal bot messages, not through the webhook

The bot could not create a webhook in the channel. Give it Manage Webhooks there, then open the channel in the dashboard and click Save Changes to create the webhook at once. Until then, entries are posted as normal messages and a bot alert is raised at most once an hour.

A bulk delete has no archive link

The archive is made only when a log channel receives Bulk Message Delete. Archives are removed after 30 days; an older link shows that the archive has expired.

I cannot add a channel

Forum, media and category channels cannot hold log messages; pick a text, voice or stage channel. Each Discord channel can have only one log channel configuration; edit the existing one instead.
