Sticky Messages
A sticky message stays at the bottom of a channel. When members have posted enough new messages (and, if you want, enough time has passed), the bot deletes its last copy and posts the message again, so it is always the most recent thing in the channel.
Open Sticky Messages in the dashboard
What it does
- One sticky per channel, using any message template saved in the Message Builder.
- Re-posts after a number of new member messages, a minimum time, or both.
- Deletes the previous copy so the channel is not flooded (you can turn that off).
- Posts as the bot, or through a webhook with its own name and avatar.
- Fills in links to your forms, such as
{forms.apply.url}, when it posts. - Turns itself off and alerts staff if its template is deleted.
Sticky messages are managed only in the dashboard. The module has no slash commands.
Common uses
- A rules reminder at the bottom of a busy chat.
- What a channel is for, in a help or media channel.
- A link to an application or feedback form.
- Event details that should stay visible during the event.
