Troubleshooting
No welcome or goodbye message
| Cause | Fix |
|---|---|
| The module switch is off | Turn it on at the top of Welcomer. It starts off the first time the page is opened. |
| No Join Channel or Leave Channel | Pick the channel and click Save Changes. |
| The bot cannot post there | Give it View Channel and Send Messages in the channel. |
| The message template is empty | Open Edit group and check the template has content. |
| The bot missed the event | Discord only tells the bot about joins and leaves with the server members intent enabled. Ask the bot's operator. |
The image card is missing
- The message must contain
{join_image}(Join Message) or{leave_image}(Leave Message). The default messages do not. - The card needs at least one variant under Configure.
- The bot needs Attach Files in the channel.

New members do not get the DM
- Welcome DM must be on.
- Members who do not accept direct messages from server members cannot be reached. The bot skips them without an error.
New members do not get the auto-roles
- The bot needs Manage Roles, and its highest role must be above every auto-assigned role (Server Settings > Roles). If one role cannot be given, the roles still waiting after it are skipped too.
- Members who joined before you set the roles are not given them.
The member number looks wrong
{user.join_position} is the member count right after the member joined. It counts everyone in the server, bots included, and goes down when people leave, so it is not a permanent join order.
