Forms - Troubleshooting
"This form is currently unavailable."
The form is switched off (its switch on the Forms tab, or Enabled in basics), or the whole Forms module is off (the switch at the top of the panel). The built-in forms start off.
A member cannot submit
The form page says why. The usual reasons:
- "You must sign in with Discord to submit this form." Require Discord Login is on (always for introductions, applications and appeals).
- "You must be a member of this server to submit this form." Allow Non-Members is off.
- "You have already submitted this form." One Response Per User is on. Staff can let them submit again with
/form reset-cooldown. - "You are on a reapplication cooldown." The application's Re-apply Cooldown (days) has not passed; the page shows when it ends.
- "This form has reached its maximum number of responses." Raise or clear Max Responses.
- "This form is currently closed." Closed is on in the form's settings tab.
- "This form closed on (date) UTC." The Close At time has passed. Clear it or set a later time.
A banned member cannot appeal
- "You are not currently banned from this server." Appeals are only for banned users. Someone who was unbanned already, or banned under another account, cannot appeal.
- "You already have a pending appeal." One appeal can be waiting at a time.
- "Your appeal has been permanently denied." It cannot be undone with a command.
- The ban DM has no link: the Forms module or the Ban Appeals form is off, DM user on action is off in Moderation, the ban was a softban, or the Ban DM template no longer contains
{appeal_url}.
No review card appears
Set the Staff Review Channel (or Appeals Review Channel) on the form's channels tab, and give the bot View Channel and Send Messages there. General and introduction forms have no review cards; use a Completion Announcement Channel instead.
"Only staff can review submissions."
The review buttons need the bot's Staff level. Add the reviewer's role to Staff Roles under Permission Roles on the dashboard's Settings page (members with Administrator or Manage Server always count as Staff). Nobody can vote on their own submission.
Roles are not given
The bot needs Manage Roles, and every role (on acceptance, on completion, per position or per answer) must be below the bot's highest role. Acceptance roles are only given to members still in the server.
The applicant got no DM
Their DMs are closed, or they left every server they shared with the bot. The failure is posted to Mod Logs as DM Failed when a log channel takes that type. The decision itself is saved either way.
